What is FairEnough?
FairEnough is a web app that helps couples negotiate changes in their relationship fairly. Partners list desired changes, rate difficulty, reveal lists simultaneously, negotiate trades with AI assistance, and track follow-through.
Is FairEnough free?
Yes, FairEnough is completely free to use. There are no premium tiers, ads, or hidden costs.
How does the negotiation process work?
The process has five phases: (1) Each partner privately lists changes they want, (2) Each rates how hard those changes would be on a scale of 1-10, (3) Both lists are revealed simultaneously so neither can be influenced, (4) Partners negotiate trades where the costs balance out, with smart suggestions to help, (5) Both track adherence to the agreed changes with regular check-ins.
How do the smart suggestions work?
During negotiations, FairEnough can suggest balanced trades, reframe conflicts constructively, and check whether a proposed deal is fair based on the assigned costs. It facilitates — it never makes decisions for you.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your relationship data is encrypted in transit and at rest, never sold to third parties, and visible only to you and your linked partner. During the listing and costing phases, your partner cannot see your data at all — it's phase-gated for fairness.
Can my partner see my list before the reveal?
No. FairEnough enforces strict phase-gating. Your items and costs are hidden from your partner until both of you are ready and the reveal phase begins. This prevents one partner from being influenced by the other's list.
What if we can't agree on a trade?
FairEnough can suggest alternative trades or reframe the conversation. You can also create multiple proposals and counterproposals. There's no pressure to accept any specific deal — both partners must agree for a trade to go through.
Do I need to install an app?
No installation required. FairEnough is a web app that works in any modern browser on desktop or mobile. You can optionally install it as a PWA (Progressive Web App) from your browser for an app-like experience.
Is FairEnough a replacement for couples therapy?
No. FairEnough is a negotiation tool, not therapy. It works well for day-to-day relationship negotiations (chores, habits, routines), but serious relationship issues should be addressed with a licensed couples therapist.
How do I invite my partner?
After creating an account, go to the Dashboard and send a partner invitation via email or a shareable link. Your partner creates their own account and accepts the invitation to form a partnership.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This permanently removes all your data, including partnership history, items, and agreements. This action cannot be undone.
What makes FairEnough different from a chore-splitting app?
Chore-splitting apps divide tasks evenly. FairEnough recognizes that 'fairness' is subjective — what's easy for one partner might be very hard for the other. By assigning personal costs, FairEnough finds trades that feel fair to both people, not just equal on paper.
